Pepper Marketing

British Columbia

Pepper is a full-service marketing agency based in Kamloops, BC, working with small businesses, big businesses, entrepreneurs, and everything in between. We take the inevitable BS (business stuff) of marketing off their plates, things like SEO and AI visibility, Google and Meta ads, social media, content, branding, websites, so they can throw themselves into the work they actually started their business to do.

Here’s the thing: our own SEO and ads bring in a steady flow of business owners who want help. We need someone who can turn the right ones into clients. That’s you, if you’ve sold agency services before, can sit across from a business owner and explain in plain language why their Google Ads aren’t converting, and know what a good scope looks like because you’ve seen the bad ones.

You’ll own the pipeline from first call to signed agreement, then hand each new client to a delivery team that will genuinely make you look good. Four-day week, fully remote, and no layers between you and the decision.

The Business Development Manager role is perfect for you if…

- You’d rather sell something you actually believe in, to people who actually need it.

- You run discovery like a strategist, not an order-taker. Diagnosing what a prospect really needs across SEO, PPC, content, and social, then shaping a scope our team can deliver well and profitably.

- You reply fast and follow up on time. You know speed and consistency win more deals than clever pitches.

- You can write a proposal that reads like a plan, not a price list.

- You’re comfortable with pricing conversations and objections, and you don’t take either personally.

- Your CRM is clean without anyone asking. Ever!

- You’re curious about AI-assisted tools for qualification, proposals,

and pipeline work, and you bring what works back to the team.

Duties

- Own the full sales cycle: qualify inbound leads, run discovery calls, build out scenarios, write proposals, price the work, and close.

- Supplement inbound with targeted outreach where you see a fit — referrals, past contacts, the right kind of prospects — without turning the job into cold-calling.

- Hand every signed client to our Project Manager’s and marketing team with a clean, complete brief, so the work starts on the right foot.

- Keep the CRM current and share win/loss insights with the team each month, so our marketing keeps getting sharper.

- Show up for the team in Slack daily and on Zoom when it counts.

Requirements

- 3+ years selling digital marketing or agency services, with a track record of closing retainer and project work.

- Working fluency across SEO, AEO, paid search, paid social, and content creation, photography, enough to hold a credible strategy conversation, scope accurately, and know when to pull in a specialist.

- Clear, warm, direct communication both in writing and on camera.

- Located in BC. This is a must.

- A genuine interest in AI-assisted tools and how they can improve your work.

Bonus if you have

- Experience selling into small and mid-sized businesses specifically.

- Familiarity with CRM/PM platforms like Productive.io.

- An existing network of business owners or marketing decision-makers in BC.

Perks

- Four-day work week (Monday – Thursday).

- Work from home vibes. Actually work from home, not “remote but please come in on Tuesdays.”

- Performance bonus tied to revenue growth, paid on top of your hourly rate. When Pepper grows, you share in it.

- Extended health benefits (health, dental, life insurance, AD&D;).

- Two weeks paid vacation.

- Professional development budget for courses, certifications, and tools.

- Real ownership of the growth engine at an agency that’s ready to grow.

Details

- Job Type: Part-Time Employee (up to 28 hours per week)

- Hours: Monday to Thursday, PST

- Compensation: $35–$45 CAD per hour, depending on experience, plus performance bonus

- Location: Remote, BC-based (HQ in Kamloops)

- Start Date: September 2026
