About Artika

Artika is a Montreal-based decorative lighting, ceiling fan, and home solutions brand — and a 2026 Canada’s Best Managed Company, recognized by Deloitte and Report on Business magazine for leadership, innovation, and strong business management.

We sell across our own DTC sites (artika.com, artika.ca), major marketplaces (Amazon, Walmart), and leading retail partners (Home Depot, Costco, Wayfair, Best Buy). Our team is design-driven, fast-moving, and growing — and this role is at the center of how we execute with our biggest retail accounts.

About the Role The Business Planner is the operational backbone of our retail sales team. You’ll work directly with Account Managers to execute strategy for our big-box retail customers, driving sales, optimizing inventory, and ensuring new products get to market smoothly.

This role goes beyond administration. You’ll establish and reinforce the analytical processes that keep the business running — from onboarding new SKUs and managing assortments to running forecasts, tracking replenishment, and identifying opportunities through data. You’ll be the person who connects the dots between what’s happening on the shelf and what the numbers say should happen next.

You’ll partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, and Channel Management on issues that impact the business, and you’ll be the primary point of contact with buyers, merchant planners, and onboarding teams at our retail partners.

This position reports to the Sales Manager.

What You'll Do

- Product Onboarding & Data Management: Manage all product information and work with retail partners to onboard new products, set up SKUs, and relay product data internally.

- Retail Systems: Build fluency in retail partner systems — including Containerization Tool, Item Data Management, AIM, CHUB, POM, MLX, FlexPLM, and CRX — and become the team’s go-to expert.
- Sales Support & Opportunity Analysis: Partner with Account Managers to identify, quantify, and communicate opportunities for growth across assigned accounts.
- Business & Product Reviews: Support business review and product line review processes with data, analysis, and presentation materials.
- Forecasting & Replenishment: Assist with demand forecasting and inventory replenishment, ensuring the right products are in stock at the right time.
- Order Management & Tracking: Lead PO/SO follow-up internally and run weekly tracker meetings to keep the team aligned on execution.
- In-Store Execution: Support product tests within assigned categories, including inventory monitoring, in-store execution, and visual merchandising.
- Retail Partner Communication: Lead communication with buyers, merchant planners, and onboarding analysts at retail partners.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional groups across Artika to analyze business challenges and recommend solutions.

What We're Looking For

- Experience with reporting, analytics, and forecasting in a retail, CPG, or sales operations environment.
- Ability to dive deep into analysis while maintaining line of sight on strategy, goals, and objectives.

- Experience developing and presenting reports to internal teams or retail partners.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills — comfortable working with complex data under changing priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills — you’ll work with internal teams and external retail buyers daily.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint); advanced Excel skills are a strong asset.
- Knowledge of BI reporting tools and EDI transmissions is an asset.
- English working proficiency required; French is an asset.
- Degree in business or commerce is an asset but not required — relevant experience matters more.
- Industry experience in retail, lighting, home improvement, or CPG is an asset.

What We Offer

- A central role in how Artika executes with its biggest retail partners — your work directly impacts sales and growth.
- The opportunity to build deep expertise in retail operations and sales planning inside a nationally recognized, Best Managed company.
- A collaborative, entrepreneurial team environment where your contributions are visible and valued.
- Room to grow: as Artika scales, so does the scope and influence of this role.
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
- Comprehensive health and dental insurance.
- RRSP matching program and performance bonus tied to company objectives.
- In office gym and barista — your morning coffee and midday workout are on us.
- Paid fresh food cafeteria on site.
