About Metalcraft Technology Metalcraft Technology Inc. is a manufacturer of precision sheet metal parts serving clients in Canada and the U.We are located in Coquitlam, BC, and currently looking for a Junior CAD Technician to join our team.

Only candidates who live in Metro Vancouver will be considered for this position. As a Junior CAD Technician, You Will Create, modify, and update 2D drawings and 3D CAD models based on customer and production requirements.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, materials, and finishes. Assist with sheet-metal design and develop drawings for laser cutting, punching, bending, and fabrication.

Review drawings and CAD files for accuracy and identify potential design or manufacturing issues. Make drawing revisions based on feedback from customers, engineers, and production teams. Prepare and maintain CAD files, drawings, and revision records in an organized manner.

Assist senior designers and engineers with ongoing projects and design updates. Support the preparation of production documentation and CNC-related files when required. Follow company quality procedures, ISO requirements, and document-control practices.

Learn and apply company standards, manufacturing processes, and CAD procedures.



Diploma or certificate in CAD, Drafting, Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field. Basic experience with 2D and 3D CAD software.

Ability to read and interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings. Basic understanding of dimensions, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of sheet-metal fabrication processes such as laser cutting, punching, bending, and welding is an asset.

Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with engineering and production teams. Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills. Basic computer skills and ability to maintain organized electronic files and documentation.

Hands-on experience in precision sheet-metal manufacturing. Training and mentorship from experienced team members. Exposure to a variety of challenging and exciting manufacturing projects. Company events such as Holiday parties, BBQs, corporate lunches, etc.

Full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
