Cashier (Full-Time)

We are looking for friendly, motivated people who enjoy helping customers and working as part of a team. This posting represents a current chance at Giant Tiger.

Responsibilities

- Ensure a high level of customer service at the checkouts.
- Accurately record customer transactions in the electronic cash register, mainline, and self‑checkout systems.
- Replenish merchandise around the checkout area.
- Follow health and safety policies and guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout work area.
- Follow loss‑prevention best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all policies when selling Tobacco and Lottery.

Qualifications

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Schedule

A typical full‑time schedule consists of day shifts, two evenings per week, and alternating weekends, with a total of 35–40 hours weekly. A part‑time schedule, if applicable, includes a mix of days, evenings, and weekends up to 24 hours weekly.

Physical Demands

Stand and/or walk; bend, twist,



and squat; lift and/or move up to 18 kg (40 lbs.); perform tasks requiring firm grasping and repetitive hand motions; reach above shoulder height and below waist level; operate equipment, including using a ladder.
