Cashier / Front Counter Team Member — Jerk King

Pay: $17–$18/hour

About Us:

Jerk King is a Toronto-based Caribbean quick-service restaurant chain. We're looking for an energetic, reliable cashier to join our front-of-house team.

What You'll Do:

- Operate the POS system and handle cash, debit, and credit transactions accurately
- Take orders and provide friendly, efficient customer service at the counter
- Serve hot QSR food to customers, ensuring proper portioning and presentation
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards while handling and serving food
- Keep the front counter, dining area, and service station clean and stocked
- Restock napkins, cutlery, condiments, and drink stations as needed
- Communicate with kitchen staff to ensure timely, accurate order fulfillment
- Handle customer questions, special requests,



and minor complaints professionally
- Follow all cash handling, opening/closing, and cash-drawer reconciliation procedures

What You Need:

- Valid Food Handler Certification (required — please have this ready to provide)
- Previous cashier, retail, or customer service experience an asset
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong communication and basic math skills for cash handling
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20–30 lbs
- Adaptable availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

Nice to Have:

- Prior quick-service restaurant (QSR) experience
- Familiarity with Caribbean cuisine
- Bilingual (English + any additional language)
