As part of the Renewable Energy team, you will contribute to the design, coordination, and delivery of medium to large-scale wind, solar, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. You will play a key role in developing civil infrastructure that supports the successful execution of projects critical to the energy transition.

As a Civil Engineer in Renewable Energy , you will be responsible for the delivery of site development, access road design, grading optimization, drainage and stormwater management, construction support, and multidisciplinary coordination. You will help develop practical and cost-effective solutions that minimize environmental impacts while meeting technical, regulatory, and client requirements.

Your Impact

- Define project technical requirements and develop solutions that address technical, environmental, regulatory, and economic constraints.
- Present engineering concepts, study results, and technical recommendations to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Design civil infrastructure associated with wind, solar, and BESS projects.
- Design temporary and permanent access roads required for the construction, operation, and maintenance of renewable energy facilities.
- Plan and optimize road alignments to facilitate equipment transportation while minimizing construction costs and environmental impacts.
- Optimize site grading and earthworks to reduce cut-and-fill volumes on wind, solar, and BESS projects.
- Participate in site layout development to maximize constructability and overall project efficiency.
- Coordinate site development activities with multidisciplinary teams to optimize land use, earthworks, and execution costs.
- Perform hydrologic, hydraulic, drainage, and stormwater management studies.
- Design ditches, culverts, retention ponds, erosion control measures, and other water management infrastructure.
- Assess runoff, erosion, and surface water risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Prepare, review, and approve technical reports, drawings, specifications, calculations, studies, tender documents, and other engineering deliverables.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, client requirements, and municipal, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Conduct site visits, inspections,



and field investigations.
- Provide technical support during construction and assist project teams in resolving field issues.
- Supervise and support the work of technicians, designers, and drafters while serving as a technical resource.
- Coordinate with geotechnical, environmental, electrical, and construction disciplines.
- Integrate permitting conditions and environmental requirements into project designs and execution strategies.
- Promote and apply company quality, health and safety, and risk management processes.
- Contribute to the development of best practices, technical standards, and civil engineering methodologies for renewable energy projects.

The skills that set you apart

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects.
- Experience in access road design, grading, drainage, hydrology, hydraulics, and water management.
- Experience supporting construction activities and field operations.
- Experience in renewable energy projects (wind, solar, or BESS) is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of grading optimization, constructability, and cut-and-fill balancing.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and other civil engineering design software.
- Experience with GIS software (ArcGIS or equivalent) is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of environmental and regulatory requirements applicable to infrastructure projects is considered an asset.
- Strong multidisciplinary coordination and communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French.
- Bilingualism is required because the individual will participate in national initiatives requiring communication with English- and French-speaking colleagues and clients.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.

Compensation

AB,BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $89 800 – 118 900

MB & ON: $81 900 – 112 800

NB, NL, NS, PEI& QC: $81 100 – 107 700

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
