About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer specializing in Road and Bridge Design to join their team in Kimberley . This role involves the conceptualization, design, and implementation of transportation infrastructure projects, including highways, rural roads, and bridges. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and longevity of these critical structures, working within a multidisciplinary setting. Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop road alignments, pavement structures, and intersection layouts according to geometric design standards.
- Perform structural analysis and design for bridges and other transportation structures.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents for road and bridge projects.
- Conduct site investigations, traffic studies, and material testing to inform design decisions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant South African National Standards (SANS) and industry best practices.




- Manage project timelines and budgets, coordinating with construction teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in road and bridge design.
- ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.).
- Proficiency in road design software (e.g., Civil 3D, Autodesk Infraworks) and bridge design software.
- Strong understanding of pavement engineering, hydrology, and structural principles for bridges.
- Excellent technical report writing and communication abilities.
