The National Diabetes Trust is Canada’s largest charitable clothing and small household good collection service. With more than 5,000 donations bins and an active home pick-up service in communities across Canada (excluding Quebec), we collect unwanted gently used clothing and household items, using them to raise much-needed funds for Diabetes Canada. Each year, the program diverts more than 100 million pounds of clothing and household items from landfill sites across Canada.

As an employee on the National Diabetes Trust team, you are part of our national coverage in 2,500 communities, with 28 operations and 100 trucks. Join a team that is making a difference raising money for life altering charitable programs, all while helping the setting. Monthly bonus for Top Drivers program Registered Pension Plan (100% Employer-paid) once eligibility criteria are met Corporate discounts through Perkopolis, Value Village and GoodLife Fitness Reporting to the Operations Manager, this critical role will work up to 29 hours per week, driving established routes to collect donated clothing and household items from our valued customers’ homes and our designated charity donations bins – and deliver these items to our Corporate Partners and storage facilities.





To understand and promote the mission of the National Diabetes Trust to the general public and to all volunteers Always operate vehicles in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and in a safe and responsible mannerConduct ‘pre’ and ‘post’ trip inspections Always carry, proof of valid driver’s license, valid plate permit registration, a copy of the Commercial Vehicle Operator Registration/National Safety Code Registration documentation and the associated vehicle inspection and Hours of Service documentation Return all equipment to the office at the end of each day Ensure that only authorized personnel ride inside the truck Participate in all required driving related NDT education, initiatives, directives, and procedures Ability to drive a 3-Ton (16 foot) straight truck Ability to project a positive business-like image to the public Ability to maintain public relations type attitude even during stressful situations Good command of the English language Must have Full Class 5 and / or G license or higher, passenger car or light truck Must have a minimum of 5 years actual driving experience at the above level.2 years if the driver has received professional commercial vehicle training Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement At National Diabetes Trust, we are guided by our values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect.
