DT Global delivers the Capacity Support Programme for MFAT. The scope of this programme is quite broad as its aim is to be responsive to the needs of Pacific Island countries. It includes providing personnel or training to assist with:

- Delivering and reporting on the flexible finance provided by MFAT;
- Developing/updating national climate change plans and reporting frameworks;
- Developing and investment-ready pipeline of projects;
- Delivering climate change priorities;
- Improving climate finance reporting; and
- Accessing a broader range of climate funding.

The position aims to strengthen access to climate finance opportunities,



support policy development, facilitate project implementation, and provide technical assistance based on current climate science, national priorities, financing mechanisms, and emerging technologies. The role would be suited to a new graduate or early career professional looking to pursue a career in climate change and climate finance.

About You

Selection Criteria

Essential Experience and Knowledge

- Diploma, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent qualification in Management, Finance, Business, Climate Change Management, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated analytical, research, and technical writing skills.
- Robust communication, stakeholder engagement, and networking skills.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in computer applications and report writing.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Fluency in English and Naoero language.

Desirable

- Academic or professional background in finance, commerce, or climate finance.
- 2-7 years of relevant professional experience in climate change, finance, development, environmental management, or a related field. Sound knowledge of international climate finance mechanisms and climate change policy frameworks.




- Understanding of UNFCCC processes, international climate negotiations, and related procedures.
- Knowledge of international climate funds, including the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and related financing institutions.
- Familiarity with political, socio-economic, and environmental issues affecting Naoero and the Pacific region.
- Experience engaging with government agencies, development partners, NGOs, and local communities.
