We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Senior Underwriter to join our Commercial P&C; Real Estate team. This is a hybrid position based in our Toronto, ON office. Perform risk analysis using internal and external data resources for quoting, negotiating, and authorizing renewals and new business opportunities Travel occasionally to meet with brokers and promote business opportunities Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external parties,
including attending industry seminars and networking events Maintain compliance with established corporate guidelines and delegated authority parameters Think strategically, formulate objectives, and implement plans consistent with company’s long-term interests Document files ensuring completeness, compliance, and quality standards while maintaining a paperless environment Complete loss reports and post-claim underwriting reviews At least 5+ years of Commercial P&C; Underwriting or Brokering experience Robust specialty in Commercial Residential Realty Insurance is an asset Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or actively pursuing (CAIB or equivalent accepted) Have a valid Broker license or ability to qualify for one within 90 days of employment Proficiency in Microsoft Office Have attended insurance industry events, such as broker conventions and networking events; Familiarity with basic legal structures in Canada By joining Specialty Program Group Canada, you’ll become part of a rapidly growing company focused on providing innovative insurance solutions to support independent brokers in Canada.
