We have a fantastic chance for a Commissioning Operator on a major regional Energy Infrastructure Project with one of our key Energy Clients in the Edmonton area on a long term contract.
What This Role Offers?
- Drive the Startup: Oversee initial energization, equipment testing, and stabilization on a flagship Hydrogen Production Unit.
- Hands-On Field Leadership: Support CC/MC walkdowns, execute commissioning procedures, and troubleshoot high-pressure subsystems.
- Shape Operations: Direct on-site vendors, redline operating procedures (SWIMs), and mentor the permanent operations team for plant handover.
Key Requirements
- Certification:
Minimum 4th Class Power Engineer ticket.
- HPU Experience: 3–5+ years operating Hydrogen Production Units (SMR, ATR, or Gasification). Project CSU/commissioning background preferred.
- Technical Mastery: CO Shift Units, $H_2 / CO_2$ gas compression, Amine scrubbing, and high-pressure oxygen cleanliness protocols.
- Safety Tickets: Active CSTS-20, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry & Monitoring, WHMIS, and Basic Scaffold Safety.
- Software: MS Office; Bluebeam Revu or SmartPlant Review is an asset.
