Indigenous Services
Canada (ISC) is seeking experienced registered nurses to join nursing teams in First Nations communities in Alberta. As an integral part of the team, you will carry out a full scope of practice and provide a broad range of services unique to community nursing with ISC. You will work alongside a talented team of nurses, other health professionals, and community members dedicated to delivering quality care in a culturally safe way.
Community Health
Nurses deliver comprehensive nursing services to clients that include in-depth nursing knowledge, skills, clinical expertise and advanced judgement through consultation, clinical practice, leadership, and facilitate knowledge transfer through health promotion and disease prevention. Persons residing in Canada, and Canadian citizens and Permanent residents abroad. NB: Preference will be given to Veterans first, and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
Two years of independent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (in the last five years) in one or more of the following areas: Acute Care, Intensive Care, Primary Care Clinic*, Urgent Care, Emergency Care NB: Primary Care Clinic* defined as clinic setting where a variety of professionals are accountable for addressing a large majority of personal health care needs. You will be flown via Indigenous Services Canada charters to an assigned community for the duration of your rotation. Work posts include remote and isolated First Nations communities within Alberta: Opportunities for part time and full-time.
Rotation: ~ Travel/outpost nursing rotations may vary and will include a combination of days, evenings, nights, and weekends. As of September 2022, ISC’s nursing recruitment and retention allowances significantly increased.
