About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and highly competent Community Nurse Practitioner to serve the Kimberley area. This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive primary healthcare services to individuals and families within the community, with a focus on preventative care, health promotion, and chronic disease management. You will act as a first point of contact for health concerns, conducting assessments, diagnosing conditions, prescribing treatments, and referring patients when necessary. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on community health outcomes in the Northern Cape, utilizing a blend of remote consultations and essential in office patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough health assessments, diagnose common illnesses, and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and therapies within your scope of practice, adhering to established protocols.
- Provide counseling on health maintenance, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications to individuals and families.
- Manage chronic health conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease, through ongoing monitoring and intervention.
- Perform minor procedures and coordinate referrals to specialists or hospitals when required.
- Utilize telehealth platforms for remote patient consultations, follow-ups,
and health education where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a Master's degree in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner specialization).
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) and relevant scope of practice authorization.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, with a strong background in primary or community health.
- Proficiency in diagnostic reasoning, clinical decision-making, and evidence-based practice.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and telehealth platforms.
- Commitment to serving the community of Kimberley and the wider Northern Cape region.
