Stantec is seeking a Project Manager (PM) to join our Program Management team.
The Project
Manager ensures the success of assigned projects through prudent management and oversight of all resources. The PM applies superior client service skills and project management best practices to deliver projects that meet financial and other objectives while exceeding client expectations. Manage the approved scope, budget and schedule of projects from client initiation, through design and to completion of construction.
Provide day-to-day project oversight and communication with the client and project team. Develop, track, update, forecast and modify the project schedule and budget throughout all phases of the project. Review and track all contracts, invoices, and payments to all contractors, consultants, and vendors.
Knows design and CA construction phases of project and can manage the team and related parties in these phases. Review and approve all invoices and change orders associated with the project. Evaluate, advise on, and assist in resolving disputes and claims.
Adapts to a dynamic project workplace and able to manage multiple tasks over an extended period. Demonstrated ability to work successfully with internal clients, external clients, subcontractors, and subconsultants. Strong computer literacy in scheduling, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet software.
Experience with budget management in a package or custom software. Solidunderstanding of design and construction process and requirements. Comfortable on site and engaging with Contractors as needed.
Experience in large scale industrial or similar construction projects. Familiarity with Ontario and/or Canadian Design and Construction standard documents, contracts, and specifications. Ability to travel and visit project site locations as required.
A technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in a related field; Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field preferred.
A Project Management certification such as PMP or an equivalent designation would be an asset. Stantec is a global leader in sustainable engineering, architecture, and environmental consulting.
