Our client is seeking a vigilant and knowledgeable Construction Safety Officer to ensure a safe and healthy working environment across all their sites in Kimberley . You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing comprehensive safety management systems and protocols. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture among all personnel.
Your expertise will be critical in preventing accidents and ensuring compliance with all relevant occupational health and safety legislation in the Northern Cape. Develop and implement site-specific Health and Safety Plans in accordance with OHS Act requirements. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues.
Provide safety training and toolbox talks to all site personnel, including subcontractors. Ensure all safety equipment is available, maintained, and used correctly. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training,
and incident reports.
Registered as a Construction Safety Officer (CSO) with SACPCMP or equivalent professional body. Minimum of 4 years of experience in a dedicated construction safety role . In-depth knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act) and related regulations.
Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, develop safety procedures, and manage safety compliance. Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
First
