Join our Rail and Transit team as a Construction Inspector in Toronto. In this role, you’ll be on-site, ensuring quality and compliance for transformative transit projects that shape the future of urban mobility.
Oversee and conduct inspections on TTC construction projects, including station upgrades, accessibility improvements, second exits, fire ventilation systems, track work, subway yards, and bus facilities. Verify that work materials and methods meet contract requirements and safety standards. Prepare detailed daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for active construction contracts.
Issue and follow up on contract deficiency reports, ensuring corrective actions are completed. Act as a liaison between contractors, TTC staff, municipalities, and utility companies to maintain smooth project execution. Support contract administration and quality assurance throughout the construction lifecycle.
Completion of a University or College program in Civil, Structural, Architectural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 3+ years of experience inspecting large, multi-discipline or heavy construction capital projects. Familiarity with bus garage and car house operations, plus experience in civil/structural, mechanical, or electrical disciplines.
Strong knowledge of construction inspection principles, materials, and equipment. Ability to interpret contract drawings and specifications, monitor progress against baseline schedules, and ensure compliance.
