The Financial Consultant Early Career contributes to the overall success of MD Financial Consultant in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Reporting to the Regional Manager, as a Financial Consultant, you will assist MD clients and their families in achieving their personal financial goals.

Working as a partner with MD’s Specialist Advisors, you will leverage your years of experience and strong client focus to prepare comprehensive financial plans and specific investment strategies for clients. You will identify and develop new opportunities to prospect and grow the client base, while ensuring retention of clients through strong relationship building and the development of comprehensive financial plans. Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge Prepare and execute quarterly business plans to aid in the meeting of individual, regional and corporate targets Complete financial planning in the areas of risk management, estate planning, liability management, cashflow/budgeting, education funding, tax, retirement planning, investment management, practice management and goal setting Prepare comprehensive financial plans and specific investment strategies based on MD Management developed and managed optimal portfolio range Conduct financial planning seminars and information meetings throughout the region to inform clients about new strategies, legislative changes and MD Management's programs Keep current on issues affecting the financial affairs of clients, including a general knowledge of income tax, investment trends and products,



as well as any other issues impacting clients Travel within established travel circuit CIRO licensed as a Registered Representative (CIRO-RR) including completion of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE), Retail Securities (RSE) ~ Life License (LLQP) (all other provinces), and the willingness to complete other regulatory requirements including RR Dealer Member Training and Conduct Training Course ~ Previous lending experience will be considered an asset ~ Strong working knowledge of Financial Planning ~ A demonstrated track record of above average sales in a financial services or related workplace ~2+ years financial planning experience within the financial services industry ~ Competitive Compensation and Benefits package including annual incentive plans, time off entitlements, Pension Plan, Employee Share Ownership Plan and favourable employee rates for employee banking An organization committed to making a difference in our communities– for you and our clients Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
