Alumni come for support, updating their contact information, getting information on services, benefits, and events, inquiring about on-going educational opportunities, providing updates on their accomplishments, and volunteering their time and talent back to SFU to help with recruitment and/or students in need of mentors.

About The Role The Coordinator, Alumni Relations provides oversight and support for SFU Alumni Relations’ regional events and engagement efforts. The Coordinator plans and executes SFU Alumni’s events and programming, including supporting activities led by global alumni ambassadors. The role provides day-to-day event management, contributes to event strategy and communications, and supports the stewardship and engagement of alumni volunteers and donors.





The Coordinator supports the development and implementation of initiatives that advance Advancement and Alumni Engagement’s strategic priorities. The role is responsible for the financial administration of regional events, including budget tracking, vendor payments, internal invoicing, and reimbursements. The Coordinator also leads the compilation, review, coordination, and submission of alumni engagement metrics, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

SFU Alumni Relations is a highly collaborative team with multiple stakeholders across the institution. The team works in a hybrid mode where 50% or more is spent in-person in the Burnaby campus.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree or diploma in Arts, Business Administration or Communications and two years of related experience in areas such as working with Indigenous and multicultural groups, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Strong analytical reasoning, problem solving, and organizational skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.




- Excellent budget management and financial administration skills with the ability to generate revenue.
- Ability to develop relationships and partnerships and to work collaboratively at all levels and areas within the organization.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with information and records systems and access improvements when needed.
