We are looking for French Bilingual Credit Analyst for a 1 year contract with high possibility of extension. Role is hybrid with 2 days a week on site in Downtown Toronto.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-submission reviews of Private Banking credit applications, identifying documentation, policy, risk, and underwriting gaps.
- Structure and prepare credit submissions for approval, ensuring all required information and supporting documentation are complete.
- Perform post-approval, pre-advance reviews to confirm conditions of approval are satisfied and identify outstanding lender requirements.
- Review complex credit structures for high-net-worth clients and assess related financial information.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training to Private Banking teams on credit documentation and submission requirements.
- Identify and escalate lending risks while working with stakeholders to resolve issues and strengthen credit quality.
- Manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive submissions with limited supervision.
- Build effective relationships across Private Banking, Risk, Lending, and Operations.
- Communicate complex credit and risk matters clearly to business and risk stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to applicable lending policies, procedures, controls,
and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Experience
- Several years of experience in credit writing, lending, or private/commercial banking.
- Strong understanding of personal, commercial, and complex lending principles.
- Experience with high-net-worth/private banking credit structures.
- Robust ability to read, interpret, and analyze financial statements.
- Working knowledge of capital markets and the broader financial environment.
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication, influencing, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to identify sensitive or unpopular issues and raise them diplomatically.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Knowledge of relevant economic, accounting, legal, tax, regulatory, and industry considerations affecting clients.
- Undergraduate degree in business, economics, finance, or a related discipline preferred.
