Position: Cybersecurity Manager
Duration: 8+ month contract
Client Location: Toronto, Ontario, 3 days on-site

About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking the services of an experienced Cybersecurity Manager to support enterprise cybersecurity initiatives focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI, emerging technologies, cloud-native platforms, and technology transformation programs within a large Canadian organization.
The engagement involves providing strategic leadership and technical expertise to ensure cybersecurity governance, security controls, and risk management practices are effectively integrated into emerging technology initiatives. The consultant will work closely with technology and business stakeholders to enable secure innovation while maintaining a strong security posture across evolving technology environments.
Services to be Provided
- Develop and maintain AI security requirements, standards, guardrails, and control recommendations.
- Lead security assessments of AI-enabled solutions, automation technologies, cloud-native services, and emerging technology platforms.
- Establish and continuously improve enterprise AI security standards, security requirements, and assessment methodologies.
- Provide security guidance regarding model security, data protection, identity and access management, security monitoring, logging, and incident response considerations.
- Conduct risk assessments and threat evaluations for emerging technologies and AI-related initiatives.
- Advise senior stakeholders on cybersecurity risks, emerging threats, and mitigation strategies.
- Define and recommend security governance frameworks, control requirements,
and risk treatment approaches.
- Support third-party technology and AI service security reviews and assurance activities.
- Monitor emerging cyber threats, AI-related attack vectors, and industry best practices and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to establish practical remediation plans and security requirements.
- Mentor technology teams and contribute to the maturity of enterprise cybersecurity and AI security programs.
- Support post-quantum readiness and secure-by-design initiatives.
Expertise Required
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, technology risk management, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience supporting the secure adoption and governance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Security architecture
- Cloud security
- Generative AI security
- AI model and prompt security
- Data protection and privacy controls
- Identity and access management
- Security monitoring and logging
- Third-party AI service assurance
- Experience implementing cybersecurity governance frameworks, policies, standards, and control requirements.
- Strong knowledge of emerging cyber threats, AI-related attack vectors,
software supply chain risks, and cloud-native security practices.
- Experience conducting technology risk assessments, threat modeling, and security control evaluations.
- Working knowledge of security governance frameworks such as NIST and ISO.
- Proven ability to communicate complex security risks and recommendations to senior stakeholders in a business-focused manner.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
- Additional certifications in Cloud Security, AI Security, or related cybersecurity disciplines.
- Experience within large enterprise environments and highly regulated industries.
- Experience leading enterprise AI security governance and risk management initiatives.
- Knowledge of post-quantum cryptography readiness and emerging technology security trends.
