About the Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Director of Technical Operations to lead the people, processes, and technical strategy behind the successful delivery of complex AV, broadcast, and digital media integration projects.

Reporting directly to the COO, this is a senior leadership position with significant influence across the organization. You’ll lead technical teams, improve how projects move from design through implementation, establish greater consistency and accountability, and ensure the organization continues to evolve alongside rapidly changing technology.

This role is ideal for a technical leader who does not simply maintain existing operations. We’re looking for someone who is curious, challenges existing processes, develops people, leverages technology, and continually asks, “How can we do this better?”

What You’ll Do

Technical Operations Leadership

- Lead the Technical Operations organization responsible for successful design, integration, commissioning, and delivery of complex technology projects
- Establish clear expectations, processes, performance standards, and accountability across technical teams
- Improve consistency in how projects are planned, engineered, implemented, tested, and handed over to clients
- Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve quality, productivity, efficiency, and profitability
- Ensure technical resources are effectively allocated across projects and regions

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

- Evaluate existing technical workflows and identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve them
- Implement scalable processes, tools, and performance metrics that improve visibility and accountability
- Identify bottlenecks and recurring project challenges and develop solutions that address root causes
- Leverage technology, data, and automation wherever possible to improve technical operations
- Build an environment where continuous improvement becomes part of the team's everyday mindset

Technical Strategy & Innovation

- Develop a long-term technical roadmap aligned with the company's strategic objectives
- Stay ahead of emerging AV, broadcast, networking, collaboration,



and digital media technologies
- Evaluate new platforms and technologies for their potential impact on customers and internal operations
- Work with strategic manufacturers and technology partners to strengthen the company's technical capabilities
- Help translate emerging technology into practical solutions and competitive advantages

Team Leadership & Development

- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop technical leaders and team members
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous learning
- Identify skill gaps and develop training and professional development initiatives
- Establish clear career paths and opportunities for technical employees to grow within the organization
- Develop future technical leaders and strengthen the organization's overall depth of expertise

Project Delivery & Quality

- Provide executive-level oversight of complex and high-profile technical projects
- Ensure systems are delivered according to scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations
- Establish quality controls and technical standards throughout the project lifecycle
- Support escalation and resolution of complex technical and operational challenges
- Use project performance and customer feedback to continually improve delivery standards

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Partner closely with Project Management, Sales, Engineering, Service, Operations, and executive leadership
- Improve handoffs and communication between departments throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide technical leadership during strategic customer opportunities and complex solution development
- Build strong relationships with clients, partners, manufacturers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders

What You’ll Bring

Required

- 10+ years of experience within professional AV, broadcast, digital media integration, electronics systems integration, or a closely related technical setting
- Significant leadership experience managing technical teams and operations
- Strong hands-on understanding of integrated AV, broadcast, networking, and/or media technologies
- Proven experience improving technical operations, processes, and project delivery
- Experience leading complex system integration projects from design through commissioning and handoff
- Strong understanding of resource planning, project economics, quality control, and operational performance
- Demonstrated ability to develop and mentor technical professionals




- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, customers, partners, and executive leadership

Preferred

- Experience leading technical operations across multiple offices or regions
- Relevant AV, broadcast, networking, engineering, or project management certifications
- Experience developing technical standards, SOPs, KPIs, and operational performance metrics
- Experience evaluating and implementing new technology platforms and operational tools
- Strong relationships within the professional AV, broadcast, or media technology industry
