Build More Than a Resume
Archos Engineering is looking for an ambitious new graduate or Engineer-in-Training who wants to build an exceptional career in electrical consulting.
We are a growing, Vancouver-based electrical engineering firm known for high-quality design, responsive service, and finding practical solutions to difficult problems. We work on exciting projects across commercial, workplace, retail, hospitality, industrial, civic, and institutional sectors—but the real opportunity is what we are building as a company.
At Archos, you will not be hired simply to fill a seat or complete markups in the background. You will learn how great projects are designed, coordinated, managed, and delivered. You will work closely with experienced engineers, clients, architects, contractors, and other consultants. As your abilities grow, so will your responsibility.
We are looking for someone who wants to become more than a technically capable engineer. We want someone who can grow into a trusted advisor, project leader, and important part of Archos’ future.
Your experience matters, but your character matters more.
Who You Are
You are hungry to learn, eager to contribute, and willing to earn greater responsibility. You do not expect to know everything—but you take ownership of finding answers, ask thoughtful questions, and learn quickly from feedback.
You will likely thrive at Archos if:
- You have high standards for yourself and take pride in producing excellent work.
- You are curious and genuinely want to understand how and why things work.
- You follow through on commitments and can be trusted to do what you say you will do.
- You approach challenges with optimism and look for solutions rather than excuses.
- You are humble enough to ask questions and confident enough to share your ideas.
- You enjoy being part of a high-performing, collaborative team.
- You communicate clearly and treat clients, colleagues, and contractors with respect.
- You want a career with increasing responsibility, not simply another job.
- You care about the success of the team, not only your individual performance.
We are not looking for a perfect résumé.
We are looking for someone with the character, work ethic, and potential to become an excellent engineer and future leader.
What You Will Do
As an Electrical EIT at Archos, you will contribute to projects from early design through construction and closeout. Your responsibilities will grow alongside your experience and demonstrated ability.
You will
- Contribute to electrical designs for power distribution, lighting, life-safety, communications, and building systems.
- Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and other technical documentation.
- Coordinate electrical designs with architects, clients, contractors, utilities, and other engineering disciplines.
- Participate in client and consultant meetings.
- Visit construction sites, review work in progress, and help resolve field issues.
- Assist with shop drawing reviews, requests for information, change documentation, and project closeout.
- Support project planning, coordination, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Learn applicable electrical codes, building codes, standards, and industry practices.
- Take increasing ownership of project tasks and smaller projects as your capabilities develop.
- Bring your own strengths, ideas, and perspective to the team.
What You Will Gain
We believe talented people grow fastest when they receive strong mentorship, meaningful responsibility, and exposure to the bigger picture.
At Archos, you will have the opportunity to:
- Learn directly from experienced engineers and firm principals.
- Work on diverse projects rather than being limited to one narrow task or building type.
- Understand the complete lifecycle of a consulting project.
- Build technical, communication, project management, and leadership skills.
- Develop direct relationships with clients and industry partners.
- See the real-world results of your designs through construction.
- Take on responsibility earlier than you may at a larger firm.
- Help shape the systems, standards, and culture of a growing company.
- Create a long-term career path based on your contribution and potential.
If you demonstrate that you are ready for more, we will give you more.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Registered, or eligible to register, as an Engineer-in-Training with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
- Robust written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, dependable, and attentive to detail.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments.
- Interested in building electrical systems and consulting engineering.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or electrical design is an asset, but not essential.
- Previous consulting, construction, or co-op experience is an asset, but not required.
Our Culture
Our culture is built around a straightforward set of expectations:
- Lead with optimism.
- Be a problem solver.
- Take extreme ownership.
- Follow through on commitments.
- Be a positive role model.
These are not slogans on a wall. They shape how we work, how we treat one another, and how we serve our clients.
We work hard, support each other, share what we know, and take pride in delivering work that earns our clients’ trust. We also believe that high standards and a positive, enjoyable workplace should reinforce one another.
The Opportunity
Archos is still early in its story. The person joining us will not be stepping into a rigid corporate ladder—they will have the opportunity to help build the company they may one day lead.
If you are talented, humble, dependable, and hungry to learn, we would like to meet you.
Please send us your résumé and a short introduction telling us why Archos and this opportunity appeal to you. We are less interested in a polished cover letter than in understanding who you are, what drives you, and what you hope to build.
