Afternoon Shift (3 pm - 10:30 pm PST) Surrey Schools is the largest school district in BC and the second largest employer in Surrey. Spread across one of the fastest-growing cities in British Columbia,Surrey Schoolsprovides quality education to over 85,000 students with 124 schools sites and a variety of other learning facilities,offering a broad range of cutting-edge programs and services to support the learning of our students.The Surrey School District team of approximately 13,000 employees works tirelessly every day to ensure that children are getting the best start they can, providing the preparation to be our leaders of tomorrow. Reporting to the Foreperson and Electrical Manager, these positions are responsible for a variety of projects including renovations, repairs, and new installations in over 140 school district sites and offices.

The department requires applicants to be prepared to work effectively in a small team as well as independently to complete top quality work in various District facilities.

Schools prides itself on providing our facilities staff with excellent work-life balance. These positions will work afternoon shifts Monday to Friday with some requirement for day shifts as needed. The successful applicants will have access to top-quality tools and equipment, a well-maintained fleet of vehicles and work out of the beautiful District Facilities Centre located in the heart of Surrey.

Interprovincial Trades

Qualification (TQ) in Electrical with a Red Seal endorsement; A minimum of 4 years' experience in a variety of electrical work; A valid Class 5 BC Driver's license.

Experience and training working on fire alarm systems is considered an asset.

Experience working in an institutional setting is a bonus! This is a unionized position that offers a 37.5 hour work week with an hourly wage rate of $40.65,plus a benefits package: municipal pension, health, vacation & sick benefits.
