EC-03,NB-07-The CER has a classification system that differs from the greater public service. Persons residing in Canada, and Canadian citizens and Permanent residents abroad. Reporting to the Environmental Protection team in the Field Operations business unit, the incumbent will be responsible for conducting compliance verification work primarily related to the remediation and management of contaminated sites on lands with CER regulated infrastructure across Canada.

The incumbent will conduct report reviews, meetings with CER regulated companies and field inspections, as well as summarize and interpret datasets of an environmental and regulatory nature to inform risk-based decision making. This work will include includes liaising with representatives from CER regulated companies, stakeholders, members of the Canadian public and also working closely with Indigenous Monitors within CER compliance verification teams across Canada.

You will be required to successfully complete the training specified in the CER training procedure within the schedule set out by your leader. University degree with specialization in environmental science/engineering related field OR other specialization related to duties of the position. Experience:E1 Experience in the field of contaminated site investigation and remediation.E2 Experience in summarizing and interpreting technical information related to environmental sciences in both written form and orally.E3 Experience summarizing, collating and interpreting data to support decision making, such as satellite imagery, environmental chemistry, environmental feature maps, or other publicly available datasets.
