Job Title: Automated Material Handling Equipment Maintenance Technician

Location: Northern Vermont (on-site, manufacturing facility)

Employment Type: Full Time

Shifts: 12-hour line-support shifts: 7am–7pm / 7pm–7am

About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading advanced manufacturer with a major production facility in northern Vermont, is hiring experienced Automated Material Handling (AMHS) Maintenance Technicians to support the equipment that transports product carriers throughout the facility: including overhead transport systems, storage/retrieval systems, conveyors, and sorters. This hands-on maintenance role is critical to keeping a 24/7 production environment running.

What You'll Do

- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated material handling equipment (overhead transport rail systems, storage systems, vehicles, conveyors)
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls-related equipment failures in a fast-paced production setting
- Respond to equipment down events to minimize production impact
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals
- Perform equipment calibrations, adjustments, and component replacements
- Document maintenance activity, parts usage, and equipment history in a CMMS




- Collaborate with engineering and production teams on equipment improvements and recurring issue resolution
- Follow all safety and controlled-environment protocols

Requirements

- 2+ years maintaining automated material handling, robotics, conveyor, or similar automated production equipment (advanced/high-precision manufacturing environments preferred)
- Working knowledge of PLCs, servo/motor controls, and industrial networking a plus
- Experience with CMMS/maintenance tracking systems
- Prior experience in controlled-environment (cleanroom-type) manufacturing is a strong plus but not required
- Associate degree or technical certificate in mechatronics, electronics, or industrial maintenance preferred
- Comfortable working in a controlled/gowned environment

Work Environment

- Controlled environment (gowned) facility
- Rotating/shift-based schedule, including nights and weekends
- Physical requirements: standing, walking, climbing, and working at heights/on lifts as needed
