RevoEscape designs and operates immersive escape-room experiences in Toronto.
We are looking for a creative and hands-on student to help us improve our escape-room props and control systems and create video content using AI-assisted production tools.
The successful candidate will work directly with an experienced escape-room designer and receive hands-on guidance throughout the placement.
Available to work in office in Toronto for 35 hours per week from early September 2026 to early January 2027
Primary Responsibilities
- optimize existing escape-room props and interactive systems
- Improve the reliability, maintainability, and player experience of game equipment
- Troubleshoot and upgrade electronic, mechanical, and software-based props
- Create and edit videos using AI-assisted tools
- Produce video content for in-game storytelling, visual effects, promotional materials, and social media
Secondary Responsibilities The intern will also assist with daily escape-room operations when required. This provides direct experience with how props and control systems perform in a real operating environment.
- Assist with game setup and reset
- Respond to technical problems during game operations
- Keep tools, replacement parts, and technical areas organized
Qualifications
Applicants should currently be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary program related to:
- Mechatronics, electrical, computer, or mechanical engineering
- Electronics, robotics, automation, or electromechanical technology
- Computer science or software development
- Another related technical or creative program
Experience with any of the following is an asset but is not required:
- Arduino or ESP32
- C, C++, C#, or Python
- Electronic circuits, sensors, motors, and relays
- Soldering and electronic prototyping
- CAD, 3D printing, or mechanical assembly
- Video recording and editing
- AI image, video, voice, or audio-generation tools
Language Skills
- Fluency in Mandarin is preferred because the intern may receive technical guidance and participate in design discussions with Mandarin-speaking team members.
- Working proficiency in English is required for workplace communication and technical documentation.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person eligible under the Student Work Placement Program
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Be currently enrolled in a relevant Canadian post-secondary program
- Be eligible to complete a paid co-op, internship, or work-integrated learning placement recognized by their institution
- Be available to work on-site in Toronto for 35 hours per week
International students on a study or work permit are not eligible for this position because the placement is intended to be funded through the Student Work Placement Program. Some evening or weekend availability may be required depending on the escape room’s operating schedule.
