Position Summary
MAGMA is seeking an organized, energetic, and detail-oriented Event Coordinator to support the planning and delivery of newcomer, community, and cultural events. Reporting to the Community Partnerships Manager, the Event Coordinator will coordinate logistics, work with internal and external partners, and help create welcoming, inclusive, and engaging experiences for participants. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing people together, managing event details, and contributing to meaningful community connections in the Greater Moncton area.
Core Position Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and support the delivery of newcomer, community, and cultural events.
- Develop and maintain event timelines, budgets, work plans, and logistical details.
- Coordinate venues, vendors, performers, volunteers, community partners, and other event contributors.
- Manage event registrations, communications, and participant engagement
- Coordinate onsite event setup, delivery, and teardown
- Ensure events are welcoming, accessible, and aligned with organizational objectives
- Maintain accurate event records, evaluations, and post-event reports
- Support sponsorship, partnership, and stakeholder engagement activities
Qualifications and Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Event Management,
Tourism, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- Experience planning and coordinating events of various sizes
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Experience working with volunteers, community groups, and external partners
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual event tools
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends
Program Eligibility Requirements*
- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
- Must be a Canadian Citizen, PR or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred and legally entitled to work.
- Must not be an international student on a study permit or the holder of a work permit.
- Must have a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Social Development Check.*
