Position Overview The Events Staff is responsible for providing support for all SSF events and activities, including setup,
operation, and teardown, as well as assisting in the SSF Office during times of inactivity. The incumbent will work in conjunction with all departments of the SSF, under the direction of the Manager, Campus Operations.
Responsibilities
This is a highly situational position that requires a great deal of flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances; duties include but are not limited to:
Events
- Set-up that may include: decorating, stage and skirting assembly, chair and table set-up, equipment load-in for bands, equipment set-up and assembly, signage, gathering supplies
- Operation that may include: public speaking, distribution of materials, recruitment of student participation, hosting special guests, performers and bands and one-on-one communication with students
- Teardown that may include: disassembly, removing signage, clean-up, and load-out of band equipment
- Assist with off-campus trips – attend off-campus events in a supervisory capacity when required
SSF Office
- Assisting students, answering calls and performing administrative tasks
- Assist SSF Clubs and Associations with providing and receiving forms, assisting with Clubs and Association events, promotions and distribution of promotional material, and general inquiries
Minimum Requirements
- Energetic, hardworking individual with the ability to take initiative
- Comfortable speaking to the public
- Flexible schedule and occasional evening and weekend availability
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced workplace
- Punctual and reliable
