Insurance (‘BHSI’) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Inland Marine Underwriter in our Calgary Office, located at Calgary Place 1, Suite #1910, 330 5 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2P 0L4. Ideally, the candidate will have experience in Inland Marine lines (including Builders Risk, Contractors’ Equipment and Motor Truck Cargo). This is a full time, permanent, and in-office position.

Handle day-to-day responsibilities as an Inland Marine Underwriter working closely with the North American Marine team. Tasks will include but not limited to,



developing business with national and regional distribution channels throughout Canada, prequalifying accounts, and utilizing underwriting acumen to select sound marine risks. Develop and build the Marine book of business which includes both Inland Marine and Ocean Cargo coverages.

Establish, develop, and expand broker and customer relationships working independently and in conjunction with other BHSI product lines. 3-5+ years insurance experience. ~Strong underwriting in Inland Marine. ~ Experience and strong understanding of policy forms, including broker manuscripts. ~ Strong collaboration and team building skills. ~ Willing to travel up to 10% to 15% of time, with occasional travel to the US. ~ Must be fluent in English.
