We are seeking individuals who are highly qualified, enthusiastic, committed to quality and innovation in meeting our students’ needs, and who value the importance of teamwork in the workplace. ~ In this course, students are introduced to image creation and editing software and how it specifically applies to texturing 3D objects. Students will create and prepare textures for 3D objects using industry standard texture creation software.
Students will explore different methods of photo manipulation and texture creation, alongside the basics of applying those textures in 3D animation and modeling software applications with minimal stretching or visible seams. Students will be introduced to unwrapping the UVs of various organic and hard surface models early on and its importance will be reinforced in assignments and tests. Baking normal maps and the various techniques to achieve clean results will be introduced.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality instruction within the 3D Modeling, Art and Animation diploma program.
Responsibilities include preparing and delivering course materials; assessing and evaluating student performance; providing mentorship, feedback, and academic support; Instructors are expected to collaborate with colleagues, contribute to program quality and continuous improvement initiatives, and support student success through skilled, effective, and student-centered teaching. Demonstrated expertise creating production-ready textures using Adobe Substance 3D Painter and image editing software. Strong understanding of physically based rendering (PBR) materials, including albedo, roughness, metallic, ambient occlusion, normal, opacity, and emissive texture workflows.
Experience baking normal maps and mesh maps from high-resolution to game-ready models while minimizing baking artifacts. Strong understanding of colour management, linear workflows, and texture preparation for modern rendering and real-time pipelines. Demonstrated ability to provide constructive critique and mentorship that helps students develop technically sound and visually appealing textures.
Demonstrated industry success and appropriate and current experience and skills in the entire 3D pipeline including 3D Modeling, Animating, Rigging Texturing, Lighting, Rendering, and Unreal Engine.
