Analyze manufacturing performance — standard cost versus actual, material and labor usage, overhead absorption, scrap and yield, inventory levels, and COGS — and translate the results into actionable recommendations. Build and maintain product-, customer-, and plant-level margin analysis, including price / volume / mix bridges explaining period-over-period changes. Develop financial models and business cases for capital expenditure requests, pricing decisions, cost-reduction initiatives, and other investments; Perform scenario and sensitivity analysis to quantify the financial impact of operational, commercial, and macroeconomic changes.
Support cash flow forecasting and working capital analysis across the U.Build and maintain KPI dashboards and reporting tools that give operations and commercial leaders self-service visibility into their results. Accounting & Month-End Close Maintain schedules for accrued liabilities, prepaid expenses, and asset amortization, and prepare and post the related journal entries. Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and assist with month-end closing activities to meet the published close calendar.
Prepare the trial balance in both CAD and USD,
ensuring accurate currency translation and resolution of any out-of-balance conditions. Reconcile intercompany accounts monthly between the U.Support the year-end audit by preparing schedules, pulling supporting documentation, and responding to auditor requests. Provide ad-hoc assistance on other finance projects and serve as backup for other members of the accounting and finance team.
Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and shorten recurring reporting and close activities, and help implement the improvements. Maintain and improve the integrity of financial data in Sage 300 and related reporting tools. Support internal control activities and help document control procedures for assigned processes.
Act as a trusted finance partner to operations, sales, and supply chain — translating financial results into language non-finance stakeholders can act on. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
Accounting background Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical ability — comfortable building and auditing complex models, pivot tables, and lookups against large data sets.
Experience with Sage 300 is a strong asset. CPA, CMA, or MBA (complete or near completion).
Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency (USD / CAD)
reporting and cross-border intercompany activity. Cost accounting or standard costing experience in a make-to-order or make-to-stock manufacturing setting.
Experience with business intelligence or reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar. On-site role based at a manufacturing facility; regular presence on the plant floor to understand operations and validate cost data. Standard office environment with periodic exposure to plant conditions; appropriate personal protective equipment is provided and required in production areas.
Extended hours may be required during month-end and year-end close, the annual budget cycle, and the external audit.
