This position is for a Property Accountant based in Toronto, Ontario Colliers International is seeking a Property Accountant to join its agile team in Toronto. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will ensure monthly deadlines are met and special projects are completed on time.
Your expertise in property accounting and strong communication skills will be essential to your success. Prepare financial reports and analyses for individual properties or consolidated portfolios. Complete year‑end adjustments and tenant billing.
CAM and Tax reconciliations/adjustments. Prepare working papers for year‑end audits. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and produce financial statements.
Perform monthly accounting tasks: journal entries, bank reconciliations, chargebacks, etc.. Ensure GST/QST reconciliation and remittance. Monitor cash flow and anticipate future needs. Collaborate closely with operations, leasing, and construction teams. Minimum 2-5 years of experience, preferably in commercial real estate property accounting or a related field. Professional designation CPA (strong asset).
Strong
Excel, Word and Outlook knowledge.
Experience with real estate accounting systems, especially Yardi.
