(Full time in Person) Jennings Real Estate Corporation (Jennings) is a fully integrated commercial real estate company centrally located in downtown Ottawa, close to retail, dining, and transit amenities. Specializing in commercial real estate management and development, Jennings manages a rapidly growing portfolio of commercial properties. Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant, the Property Accountant will be in charge of the full accounting cycle of a portfolio of properties.

This hands-on role will work closely with various internal departments, including property management, leasing, projects and development. Handle full-cycle accounting for a diverse portfolio of commercial properties. Complete month-end closing activities including review of journal entries, accrual, reconciliations, and amortization schedules.

Daily and monthly bank reconciliation including follow-up and adjustment of outstanding items. Maintain and monitor general ledger and chart of accounts to ensure proper classification of transactions. Work closely with property management teams to respond to questions and resolve routine accounting issues including non payment of rent.

Prepare all property HST remittances and file on time. Complete year-end operating cost reconciliations.



Liaise with the team regarding accounting matters, provide accounting guidance and respond to queries.

Additional accounting/special project work as required. 3+ years of combined accounting and financial experience in a similar role. ~ A degree in accounting, finance or business administration. ~ Demonstrated experience with full accounting cycle. ~ Experience in property management/Real estate is an asset. ~ Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). ~ Experience with Yardi is an asset. ~ We offer a competitive benefits package designed to help team members feel valued both at work and outside of work.
