The Financial Solutions
Specialist provides advanced, licensed investment advice and multi‑goal financial strategies aligned to members’ life events and evolving financial needs. Working in an unassigned member model, the Financial Solutions Specialist engages members through milestone‑driven interactions, proactive outreach, and referrals, ensuring advice remains timely, compliant, and appropriate. Through hybrid advice delivery and close collaboration with investment partners, credit partners, and branch advisory teams, the Financial Solutions Specialist plays a key role in strengthening member relationships, identifying when comprehensive financial planning is required, and ensuring a seamless, holistic member experience across the broader advice ecosystem.
Licensed Investment
Advice & Mutual Fund Sales Perform investment suitability reviews based on client information, following regulations and internal policies. Provide tailored investment recommendations and execute mutual fund sales and other licensed investment products. Develop and implement medium- and long-term investment strategies based on member risk tolerance, goals, and time horizon.
Educate members on portfolio diversification, market fundamentals, and retirement planning strategies. Maintain strict adherence to regulatory,
licensing, and documentation requirements, ensuring compliance at all times. Deliver advanced planning conversations focused on retirement accumulation, education savings, multi-year investment objectives, and early-stage tax efficiency considerations.
Support financial milestones requiring judgment, technical expertise, and strategic insight. Leverage CRM analytics to identify advisory opportunities, deepen member relationships, and proactively engage members.
Complex
Lending & Credit Expertise Manage escalated lending scenarios from branch teams and Financial Solutions Associates, including construction and renovation mortgages, rental/investment property financing, business-for-self income structures, and multi-product lending strategies. Recommend lending structures that balance member needs with institutional risk appetite. Collaborate with credit partners to resolve complex or escalated cases, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
Engage proactively through holistic advisory services to help members implement recommended strategies and achieve financial goals. Utilize hybrid advisory channels—digital, virtual, and in-person—ensuring accessibility and convenience. Document all suitability assessments, investment recommendations, and next steps accurately in CRM systems.
Promote digital literacy and encourage members to use digital tools for goal tracking and financial management. Coordinate closely with appropriate teams for members requiring comprehensive financial planning.
Mentor Financial Solutions
Associates and other branch team members,
sharing product knowledge, regulatory guidance, and best practices. Work collaboratively with wealth, credit, and risk teams to ensure a seamless and integrated member experience. Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. ~ 4–6 years of advisory experience including investment and lending . ~ Strong understanding of registered products (RRSP, TFSA, RESP) and non‑registered investment solutions. ~ Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in financial services. ~ Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and advisory and coaching skills. ~ Familiarity with complex lending scenarios, including mortgages, refinancing, and multi-product strategies. ~ Proficiency in CRM systems and documentation of suitability and compliance requirements.
