Position Overview The First Aid Instructor delivers First Aid, CPR, and emergency response training to individuals and workplace groups, following the standards and requirements of the applicable training provider. The role requires the instructor to be currently certified by the Canadian Red Cross as a First Aid/CPR Instructor and to maintain all required instructor certifications and credentials in good standing. The position combines classroom instruction with hands-on skills training, participant assessment, and accurate completion of training and certification records.
The role also requires frequent standing, walking, demonstrating practical skills, and working with First Aid training equipment.

What You’ll Do
Deliver Training
- Deliver First Aid, CPR, AED, and emergency response training in classroom and hands-on settings.
- Facilitate engaging learning through presentations, demonstrations, discussion, and practical activities.
- Demonstrate skills accurately and confidently while coaching participants through hands-on practice.
Assess &
- Support Participants
- Assess participants according to applicable training provider standards.
- Administer and mark written and practical assessments.
- Provide clear feedback and support to help participants successfully complete course requirements.
- Maintain a professional, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
Manage Training &
- Records
- Prepare classrooms, equipment, and supplies for training.
- Maintain accurate attendance, assessment, participant, and certification records.
Represent SafetyCo
- Deliver a professional, consistent training experience that reflects SafetyCo’s standards and values.
- Travel to client locations and SafetyCo training locations as required.
- Participate in instructor meetings, calibration, training, and professional development.
- Stay current with applicable training standards and requirements.
- Follow SafetyCo policies, procedures, and instructor expectations.
- Perform other related duties as required.

What You Bring
Required
- Certified by the Canadian Red Cross as a First Aid/CPR Instructor
- Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications are appropriate to the programs being delivered.
- Previous experience delivering First Aid and/or CPR training in a classroom setting.
- Strong knowledge of First Aid, CPR, AED, and emergency response practices.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Ability to deliver both theoretical and hands-on instruction.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Skilled and approachable manner.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred
- Experience in occupational health and safety, emergency services, healthcare, education, or a related field.
- Experience managing classrooms with participants of varying knowledge and experience.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a broader instructor team.
Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel may be required for industry events, training, or trade shows.
