Company DescriptionLeap Pest Control is an Oshawa-based pest management company serving residential, commercial, co-operative housing and property-management clients across the GTA and surrounding areas. This graphic design position will also support our related businesses and brands:

- Extreme Cleanup (extremecleanup.com) – specialized cleaning and property services
- Pestii (pestii.com) – a developing pest-management technology platform
- Leap Loyalty (leaployalty.ca and leappestcontrol.com/leap-loyalty/) – our client loyalty and engagement program

Together, these brands create a diverse range of design needs across service businesses, technology, digital marketing, client communications and business development.

Role DescriptionWe are looking for a creative and dependable Freelance Graphic Designer to provide ongoing design support across Leap Pest Control, Extreme Cleanup, Pestii and Leap Loyalty. This is a part-time contract, hybrid position based in Downtown Oshawa, with flexibility to complete much of the work remotely. Projects will vary from week to week and may include:

- Social media and digital campaign graphics
- Print and digital advertisements
- Email marketing graphics and newsletters
- Flyers, posters and promotional materials
- Brochures and information packages
- Reports and professionally designed PDFs
- Presentations and sales materials
- Website graphics and visual content
- Event materials and signage
- Templates and reusable brand assets
- Updating and adapting existing designs
- Preparing files for print and digital production
- Maintaining consistent but distinct visual identities across multiple brands

The designer may also assist with website, product and interface-related design for Pestii. You will work with our team to take ideas, written direction, existing brand assets and examples and turn them into polished visual materials.

Qualifications

Required

- Strong working knowledge of Canva




- Comfortable using Google Workspace, including Google Drive, Docs, Sheets and Slides
- Strong understanding of graphic design fundamentals, including typography, layout, colour, spacing and visual hierarchy
- Ability to create professional-quality designs for both digital and print applications
- Ability to take a rough concept or written direction and develop it into a polished design
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Comfortable receiving feedback and completing revisions
- Robust organization and communication skills

AI & Creative ToolsWe use AI as part of our day-to-day business and creative workflows. Candidates should be comfortable understanding when and how AI can appropriately support design work, including brainstorming, concepts, imagery, copy development and production efficiency.

We are looking for someone who can use AI thoughtfully while still applying professional design judgment, quality control, accuracy and brand consistency.

AI should be treated as a creative and productivity tool—not as a replacement for design fundamentals.

Additional Design SoftwareExperience with one or more of the following is strongly preferred:

- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe InDesign
- Figma
- Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Affinity Designer, Photo or Publisher
- Microsoft PowerPoint

Experience with video or motion content using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro or similar software is considered an asset.

Candidates are not expected to know every program listed above.

Students & Early-Career DesignersWe welcome applications from design students, recent graduates and early-career designers, as well as designers with established professional experience.





Formal education and years of experience are less important to us than demonstrated design ability.

You must already understand design fundamentals and be comfortable using the required software. We can provide brand direction, feedback and project guidance, but applicants should already have the technical skills needed to complete design work independently.

School projects, personal projects, freelance work and other portfolio examples are welcome.

Work ArrangementThis position is expected to average approximately 10–15 hours per week, although hours may vary depending on current projects and business needs.

We have office space available in Downtown Oshawa, and occasional in-person collaboration may be required. A significant portion of the work can be completed remotely.

The successful candidate must have their own laptop or computer capable of completing professional graphic design work. A company laptop is not provided.

Compensation$22–$30 per hour, based on:

- Portfolio strength
- Experience
- Technical capabilities
- Ability to work independently
- Level of project direction required

Students and early-career designers may fall toward the beginning of the range, while more experienced designers who can independently manage projects may fall toward the higher end.
