We're looking for a Full Stack Technical Lead to guide the architecture, delivery, and quality of the applications powering our insurance platform — from customer-facing portals to internal tools for underwriting, claims, and policy administration. You'll lead a team of engineers across the front end and back end, making key technical decisions, mentoring developers, and partnering closely with product and business stakeholders to ship secure, reliable software in a regulated industry.
What You'll Do
- Set the technical direction and architecture for full stack applications, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability across the stack
- Lead, mentor, and review the work of a team of full stack engineers, setting standards for code quality, testing, and design
- Own front-end architecture decisions in Angular — state management, component structure, performance, and reusability
- Guide back-end architecture and technology choices (API design, data modeling, service architecture), and help evolve the back-end stack as needs grow
- Design and oversee RESTful APIs and integrations between front end, back end, and third-party/insurance systems (policy admin, claims, billing, rating engines)
- Ensure applications meet insurance industry requirements for data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance
- Drive engineering best practices: CI/CD, automated testing (unit, integration, e2e), code review standards, and release management
- Partner with Product, UX, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs and delivery plans
- Participate in architecture reviews, technical spikes, and evaluation of new tools/frameworks for the back-end stack
- Support production troubleshooting and incident response across the full stack
- Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and technical growth of engineers on the team
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of full stack software development experience, including 2+ years in a technical lead or similar leadership role
- Strong hands-on expertise with Angular (component architecture, RxJS, state management, performance optimization)
- Solid back-end engineering fundamentals and the ability to architect server-side systems regardless of specific language/framework (e.g., Java/Spring, .NET, Node.js, Python — adaptable across stacks)
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs; familiarity with API security (OAuth/OIDC, JWT, etc.)
- Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling; SQL proficiency
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and cloud infrastructure (AWS)
- Excellent communication skills — able to work across engineering, product, and compliance/legal teams
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
Nice to Have
- Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
- Exposure to legacy system modernization or stack migrations
- Experience with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with Pega
