Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented General Accountant to join their Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for a variety of accounting functions including reconciliations, tax filings, treasury support, and regulatory reporting. Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary : $55-65K plus bonus

Key Responsibilities

- Perform daily bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Reconcile prepaid expenses and fixed assets, including tracking and depreciation
- Prepare and file Canadian and U.S. sales tax returns
- Complete customs and duty filings with regulatory agencies
- Prepare bottle deposit reconciliations and provincial filings
- Support Accounts Payable processes, including invoice coding, processing, and payment preparation




- Prepare commission billings and intercompany transactions
- Assist with treasury activities including reporting, foreign currency monitoring and purchases, and payment setup
- Prepare and submit Statistics Canada filings
- Contribute to process improvements and other finance-related initiatives as required

Qualifications

- Postsecondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Minimum 1 year of accounting experience
- Knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ERP systems; Sage X3 experience is considered an asset
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn and grow professionall
