As a Geochemist or Biogeochemist, you will oversee technical aspects of tailings management and provide leadership in geochemical characterization, acid rock drainage, and metal leaching.
This hands-on role involves working with multidisciplinary teams on closure planning and designs, ensuring all technical work adheres to business and regulatory objectives. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead geochemical characterization and monitoring programs
- Develop and review geochemical models using PHREEQC and GoldSim
- Support mine water management and closure landform designs
- Manage budgets, schedules, and technical consultants
- Mentor junior staff on geochemistry topics
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Geochemistry, Environmental Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of relevant geochemistry experience
- Knowledge of Alberta's oil sands regulatory workplace
- Strong communication and project management skills
- Professional designation registration eligibility with APEGA
