Wood Environment & Infrastructure has served the mining industry for over 50 years. We are looking to expand our service offerings to include mineral processing, mining, and resource evaluation. We have strong offices and client relationships in the Americas with ambitions for Australia.
Consequently, we are actively recruiting for a leader to develop these recent services. The successful candidate will work with Environment & Infrastructure’s Strategy and Development team to develop strategies for our global mining consulting across all offices. This will involve development of a strong geology, mining and process team that is a competitive fit for the mining market and presenting them to the marketplace.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a superior brand in geology, mining and process consulting services
- Familiarity with major relevant financial regulations such as NI43-101, SK1300, etc. and willingness to act as Qualified Person
- Ensure strong communication of opportunities between offices and related business units, sharing of resources between offices and development of strong win plans for new projects
- Promote a performance culture emphasizing value-added to our clients aligned with client objectives and strategies
- Drive innovation in new and cost-competitive consulting services
- Facilitate the interactions between all disciplines with Environment & Infrastructure to achieve client and Environment & Infrastructure objectives.
- Actively support group business development through participation in professional conferences, direct business development activities,
client relationship building and preparation of proposal scopes of work and budgets
- Facilitate the recruitment of staff that improve capabilities and better serve the needs of the mining industry
- Assist with the proper selection of staff for projects in coordination with proposal managers, operations managers, and other technical leads
- Develop recommendations for training, professional development, recruiting and acquisition of technical tools to ensure Environment & Infrastructure’s leadership in geology, mining and process consulting services
- Communicate strategies and performance to senior management
- Ensure professional development of the Group by maintaining a continuous and strong focus on performance discussions between managers and staff, and assessment of training needs
- Regular travel to project sites, Environment & Infrastructure Mining offices and client offices will be required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 20 years international experience in diverse roles in consulting and engineering studies, in the mining industry
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in managing diverse technical teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Resource Geology,
Engineering or relevant discipline
- Experience with a wide range of commodities in diverse global settings is a preference
- Excellent communication, mentoring, and collaboration skills is necessary
- Demonstrated leadership and credibility leading a Consulting Group
- Strong drive to succeed, and outgoing personality
- Strong desire to grow and manage a consulting business
- Industry recognition as a leader in providing mining consulting services
- A well-established client network globally
- A willingness to travel both domestically and internationally, for varying durations and at times to remote locations
- Authorization to work lawfully in key jurisdictions such as Australia, Canada or USA
