The Metal

Inspector/Grader, under the direction of the Supervisor, Ferrous will be responsible for overseeing the inspection, grading, sorting, and processing of ferrous and/or non-ferrous materials. The successful candidate must be comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

The Metal

Inspector/Grader is expected to have the ability to learn and assist in several aspects of our daily operations such as scrap inspections, sorting, and processing of materials, operating mobile equipment, and generally is in daily communications with our drivers, colleagues, contractors, and peddlers. Use tablet or hand-held device to input material grades. Ensure incoming material meets conformities.

Remove all non-confirming material. Process materials by breaking them down by commodity. Provide exceptional customer service to peddlers and contractors. Ensure clear roadways and housekeeping of the yard.

Knowledge of metal materials is an asset.

Experience with a forklift (valid forklift certification on Counterbalance).

Experience with front-end loaders is an asset. Prior experience and comfort working outdoors.
