The Rainy

River mine, located adjacent to the Ontario/Minnesota border is 65 kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. Applicants who reside in Northwestern Ontario and have experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the Northwest Ontario, are assets.

Position: Haulage Miner - Permanent Shift 7/7 – 12 hour days and nights ( Note - Camp accommodations are not available for this role) The role of the Haulage Miner is to provide support to mine operations, mainly through operating heavy equipment to ensure that production activities are performed in a safe and efficient manner and production objectives are met. No prior experience is required. The successful applicant will receive on the job training to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge required for the position.

Preference will be given to residents of the Rainy River District. Camp and travel accommodations are not provided.



Operate mining equipment in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with New Gold site policies, procedures and SOP's.

Operate haul truck to transport overburden, waste, and ore from the mine. Other activities to ensure safe, productive and productive surface mining operations. 1-year operating machinery considered an asset but not necessary. ~ Heavy Equipment Operator Training is desirable. ~ Ontario Common Core Training is an asset.
