About Shalem Mental Health Network

Since 1963, Shalem has believed that mental health care is about more than treating illness—it's about helping people and communities flourish. What began as a local counselling ministry has grown into an innovative Christian mental health organization that integrates faith, professional excellence, and restorative practice in the service of individuals, churches, schools, nonprofits, and communities across Canada. Our Christian faith shapes both our purpose and our practice.

Our work seeks to remove the barriers that keep people from living, leading, serving, and loving others well. In many ways, we help the people who help people—equipping individuals, churches, and organizations to reflect Christ's compassion and participate in God's work of healing and renewal in their communities. We are committed to building a workplace marked by compassion, integrity, excellence, and reconciliation.

We enjoy tackling new challenges, developing creative solutions, and continually improving how we serve our communities. We are a staff team of 20+, with a network of 300+ service providers across Canada. Alongside our longstanding counselling and community programs, we’re expanding national partnerships, developing new organizational wellbeing initiatives, strengthening restorative practices, investing in technology and operational systems, and exploring innovative ways to serve churches, nonprofits, and communities across Canada.

We’re looking for a leader who is energized by helping build what’s next. As our work continues to grow locally and nationally, we’re looking for leaders who are excited to help build the teams, culture, and organizational foundation that will support our mission for years to come.
