Role Description The Head of Mergers and Acquisitions is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON, responsible for leading the firm’s end-to-end M&A; strategy and execution. This role involves sourcing and evaluating potential acquisition targets, overseeing financial and strategic analyses, and managing due diligence processes across functional areas. The Head of M&A; will negotiate transaction terms, structure deals, and coordinate with legal, finance, and operational teams to ensure successful closings and integrations.

Day-to-day responsibilities include developing the acquisitions pipeline, mentoring team members, preparing investment committee materials, and maintaining relationships with advisors, intermediaries, and company leadership. The individual will work closely with senior executives to align M&A; activities with the firm’s long-term growth objectives.

Qualifications

- Strong expertise in Acquisitions and Corporate Development, including experience leading end-to-end transaction processes.
- Advanced Finance and Financial Modeling skills, with the ability to build, review, and interpret complex financial models and valuations.
- Proven experience managing comprehensive Due Diligence across financial, legal, operational, and commercial domains.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate deal terms, structure transactions, and work with legal and advisory teams to close deals.




- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities, with attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience preparing materials for investment committees or boards.
- Leadership experience managing teams or cross-functional projects in M&A;, private equity, investment banking, or corporate development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, CFA, or similar) is an asset.
- Ability to work in office in Toronto, ON, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
