• Training (Construction) Specialist. The purpose of this role is to support the project achieving top tier Safety and Security results. This involves interfacing across all project teams to establish solid relationships, provide leadership on Safety &
• Security elements, resources, audits, training, evaluation of own and contractor/subcontractor systems, analyze safety related data, and develop programs and processes for the continued improvement of Safety &
• Security performance. Implements the duties of the health and safety position they are appointed into which could include Onboarding &
• Training, Reporting,
Incident Investigation, and coordinating Threat and Hazard Impact Risk Assessments (T/HIRA). Provides subject matter expertise, advice, and guidance with respect to relevant health and safety matters across the program. Works collaboratively with the contractor to confirm that the measures set out in the site-specific safety plan are effectively implemented. Provides management level reporting and identifies key risks and issues for escalation to the appropriate decision makers. Coaching, mentoring, and supporting the career development of staff. Typically, a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in on-site health and safety role (inspection, coordinator, onboarding and training, and / or reporting).
Experience in working within construction environments, major infrastructure / aviation program experience is considered an asset. Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing effective health and safety management plans. Strong stakeholder management skills and comfortable in working with the owner, consultants, and contractors.
Diploma/certificate in health and safety and / or equivalent training experience. This position requires work on-site/out of the office 5 days a week. This is a replacement position. To support this commitment,
all newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment.
