You are a hands-on problem solver with strong mechanical abilities who enjoys diagnosing issues, finding solutions, and improving equipment reliability.

You understand the importance of preventative maintenance, accurate record keeping, and protecting company assets through quality workmanship.

Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment

Mechanic certification or equivalent experience.

Experience maintaining tractors, forklifts, aerial lifts, trailers, and other heavy equipment.

Experience transporting heavy equipment using trailers and commercial vehicles. Knowledge of hydraulic, diesel, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Experience with inventory management and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an asset. Ability to troubleshoot and prioritize competing maintenance demands.



Class 1/A or equivalent commercial license is considered an asset. Forklift, aerial lift, and other equipment certifications are considered an asset.

Equipment Maintenance

Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on heavy-duty equipment, including tractors, forklifts, aerial lifts, trailers, and other mobile equipment. Conduct regular inspections to identify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and safety issues. Work with the maintenance manager to coordinate and schedule preventative maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime. Maintain maintenance records, inspection reports, and service documentation.

Equipment Transportation

Safely transport equipment between company facilities and work sites. Coordinate equipment deliveries and pickups based on operational requirements. Ensure all transported equipment complies with transportation regulations and company safety policies.

Inspect equipment before and after transport to identify any damage or maintenance needs. Fleet and Asset Management Work with the maintenance manager to develop, implement, and maintain an equipment inventory and tracking system. Track equipment location, utilization, maintenance schedules, inspections, warranties,



and lifecycle information.

Monitor equipment availability and coordinate deployment to support project needs. Maintain accurate records of fleet assets and equipment assignments. Recommend equipment replacement or disposal based on condition, maintenance costs, and operational requirements.

Inventory Management

Manage inventory of parts, tools, supplies, and consumables. Establish inventory control procedures and reorder levels. Source and order replacement parts while monitoring costs and supplier performance.

Conduct periodic inventory audits to ensure accuracy. Ensure all equipment meets applicable safety standards and regulatory requirements. Complete required safety inspections and maintain compliance documentation.

Maintain required certifications and licenses for operating and transporting equipment. Work closely with project managers and operations staff to schedule equipment availability. Provide technical support and recommendations regarding equipment performance and maintenance.
