We are currently looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Quebec . This is a day shift position , Monday to Friday, from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Reporting to the Mechanical Manager, the Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding a variety of heavy equipment while providing regular updates to the Team Lead.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, general, and scheduled maintenance on heavy equipment and forklifts.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and determine the root cause of equipment failures.
- Perform both minor and major repairs on:
- Engines
- Hydraulic systems
- Pneumatic systems
- Braking and steering systems
- Electrical and electronic systems
- Transmission components
- Complete work orders and inspection reports, documenting all work performed.
- Ensure proper operation and responsible use of company equipment.
- Inform the immediate supervisor of any unplanned repairs, identified issues, or work exceeding estimated repair times.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow all company health and safety
