Role Description This full-time on-site Heavy Equipment Mechanic role is based at Hitrac’s facility in Winnipeg, MB.

The Heavy Equipment

Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of construction and heavy equipment, including loaders, excavators, and other machinery. Daily tasks include performing scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, and completing accurate service documentation. The role involves working closely with the service team to prioritize work orders, communicate repair status,



and ensure equipment is returned to customers safely and efficiently. The mechanic is expected to follow all safety procedures, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and support high standards of customer service.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Vehicle Maintenance for heavy and light construction machinery.
- Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Certiface required
- Proficiency in Equipment Repair and Heavy Equipment servicing, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to conduct effective Troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues.
- Relevant technical training or certification in heavy equipment, diesel technology, or a related field.
- Experience using diagnostic tools, service manuals, and computerized systems for equipment repair.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong time-management and communication skills.
- Previous experience in a dealership or construction equipment environment is considered an asset.
