Heavy Equipment

Technician - Lead hand As our Lead Hand (shop and field), you’ll play an important role in helping the Service Manager with day-to-day planning, organization, and workflow. You’re counted on to provide top-quality leadership and service, while following the company’s established policies and procedures. In this role, you’ll also help develop and coach apprentices.

You’ll recognize that our customers’ livelihoods depend on the service they receive from our team. ~ You have done the hard work and training required to earn certification as a Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician and you’re ready to apply all that you have learned to make Great West Equipment your customers’ first choice. ~ You are accomplished with diagnostic and repair experience on a wide variety of heavy equipment from various manufacturers.



You may need to work under pressure while maintaining a strong focus on communication and quality service.

The pace can be fast, the hours can be long during busy cycles, and you may also need to work overtime. You will also realize that you need to recharge regularly – we insist that you take your vacation time! ~ Listen actively and perform competence analysis of apprentice technicians. Identify areas for them to improve and provide on the job training to assist in their development. ~ This is a detail-oriented position and you have already developed personal systems for organizing your work and organizing the techs on your team.

This is a full time, permanent position.
