Human Resources Generalist
Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

What This Role Will Be Doing The HR Generalist will support the daily operations of the HR department by assisting with various human resource tasks. This role involves recruitment, onboarding, performance management, benefits administration and employee relations. The HR Generalist will work closely with other HR team members and department heads to foster a positive and productive culture.
Duties To Include (not Limited To)
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to assist in the development and implementation of effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
- Assist in the facilitation of the onboarding process for new employees, including new hire orientations.
- Assist leadership with employee performance issues and provide constructive feedback to employees and managers. Address employee grievances and take appropriate disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, job history, job status changes, and performance evaluations.
- Support employee culture including general communication, recommending, planning and helping to administer employee functions and other employee support activities to foster a positive environment.
- Assist with coordination of employee training and development programs.
- Assist with employee benefit programs and related tasks.
- Stay updated on HR trends and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive.
- Assist with annual performance evaluation process and merit increases.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Respond to human resource related inquiries.
- All other HR duties as assigned.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR or related roles.
- Proficiency in HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Payroll knowledge and experience beneficial
- Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Working Demands / Physical Requirements
- Flexibility of hours to adapt to seasonal needs
- Minimal travel required
